Welcome
The upgraded simulation combines geometry instruments with modern drawing and annotation tools. Use the toolbox to construct shapes, sketch ideas, add labels, insert images, and export your finished work with ease.
1. Open the Toolbox
Open the toolbox from the top-right button on desktop or the mobile toolbox toggle on smaller screens. This panel gives you access to all the available instruments and controls.
2. Select Instruments and Tools
Choose the geometry tools you need and use the checkboxes to show or hide individual instruments.
- Compass – Draw circles and arcs with precision.
- Protractor – Measure and construct angles accurately.
- Scale (Ruler) – Measure distances and draw straight lines. Its size can be increased by using the slider shown below the Scale checkbox.
- Set Square – Draw parallel and perpendicular lines with standard angles.
- Pen – Sketch, annotate, and mark constructions clearly.
For additional work, switch to the Eraser, Freehand, Image, Text, or Grid controls from the same toolbox.
3. Move and Rotate Instruments
Move Instruments
- Compass: Drag the needle tip to reposition it and adjust its opening with the radius control.
- Protractor: Drag the base to move it.
- Scale and Set Square: Drag any part of the instrument to reposition it.
Rotate Instruments
- Compass: Rotate it by dragging the red button near the pencil holder.
- Protractor, Scale, and Set Square: Use the rotation handle to turn them as needed.
Place each instrument carefully before you begin drawing or tracing.
4. Draw and Trace Constructions
- Select the Pen tool from the toolbox.
- Move the pen tip close to the edge of an instrument and hold it steady.
- Drag slowly for smooth and accurate tracing.
- Adjust the stroke width, color, and style from the toolbox to match your construction.
You can also use the compass tracing feature to draw precise circles and arcs by rotating around the needle tip.
5. Add Text and Images
- Choose the Text tool, enter your label, and pick a size and color.
- Click on the workspace to place the text exactly where you want it.
- Use the Image tool to upload a picture and adjust its opacity and size as a visual reference.
These features are useful for labeling points, angles, measurements, or adding supporting visuals to your work.
6. Erase and Refine
- Activate the Eraser from the toolbox.
- Drag it over unwanted lines or text to remove them.
- Adjust the eraser size for fine corrections or larger cleanups.
Use the eraser carefully so completed parts of the construction remain intact.
7. Use the Grid and Workspace Controls
Turn on the grid whenever you need better alignment and more precise spacing.
- Improve accuracy while placing instruments.
- Keep lines and shapes evenly spaced.
- Make detailed constructions easier to follow.
8. Export and Start Fresh
- Review your construction when you are finished.
- Click Export Image to save it as a PNG.
- Choose the background color when prompted.
- Use Clear Screen whenever you want to reset the workspace for a new activity.
The exported image can be used in assignments, reports, presentations, and classroom notes.
Helpful Tips
- Open the simulation in fullscreen for a larger and more comfortable workspace.
- Position instruments before tracing to keep your lines accurate.
- Move the pointer slowly for smoother strokes and cleaner shapes.
- Use different colors and line styles to distinguish each step of a construction.
- Review your work carefully before exporting the final image.
